Kerry L. Iris

Chief Executive Officer
 

Since 2006, Ms. Iris has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Dowel Iris, where she manages all aspects of the company with a focus on acting as General Counsel and maintaining oversight of all capital markets transactions. Kerry is a founding member of Resolution Capitol Management and serves as the Chief Executive Officer overseeing daily operations for the company.

 

With over 25 years of industry experience, she started her career in New York City as a transactional attorney working for Dreyer & Traub, a boutique real estate firm whose clients included many high profile national and international real estate companies. After moving to Washington DC, she continued her transactional legal career with Fried, Frank Harris, Shriver and Jacobson and Miles & Stockbridge with a focus on negotiating the acquisition, leasing and financing of real estate transactions.

Ms. Iris was the co-chair of the Community Services Committee for the DC Building Industry Association for almost 20 years. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and the Board of Women’s Philanthropy of that organization. Ms. Iris was the former Chair of the Tikkum Olam Women’s Foundation of Greater Washington, and served as the Foundation’s Grant and Development Chairs. She is currently on the Advisory Council. Ms. Iris has chaired many fundraising events for several local charities including the Heroes Gala for the Children’s National Medical Center.

Jared I. Kassoff

Chief Operating Officer

Jared Kassoff is a principal member of Resolution Capitol Management where he serves as Chief Operating Officer. His primary responsibilities include overseeing daily operations for the company, leading the asset & property management teams for the portfolio, and managing active development projects. Jared also serves on the Investment Committee for affiliate company Dowel-Iris.  

 

Prior to working with RCM, Mr. Kassoff was an Assistant Vice President at KeyBanc Capital Markets on the Institutional Equity Sales and Trading desk, co-covering REIT dedicated institutional investors. There he was tasked with marketing REIT equity research products, trading capabilities, and capital markets transactions to the world’s largest real estate investment managers including hedge, mutual, pension, and sovereign wealth funds.

These efforts were accomplished through daily interactions with Public/Private C-Suite Management Teams, Portfolio Managers, and REIT Analysts. 

 

Outside of work, Mr. Kassoff serves on both the Finance Committee of the BOT and Alumni Board for his high school alma mater St. Andrews Episcopal School. Jared is an active member of the NextGen Board for the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington. Additionally, he serves on the board for University of Maryland Hillel. 

 

Jared attended Syracuse University for undergrad where he obtained a Bachelor of Science before moving to New York City. While working at KeyBanc he earned a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance from Fordham University.

Olga V. Smylie, CPA

Senior Accountant

Olga Smylie joined Resolution Capitol Management to oversee all corporate and property level accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Prior to joining the company, Mrs. Smylie worked as an auditor providing assurance services to a diverse array of businesses including, manufacturing, information technology, financial services, real estate, and construction industries.

Olga found her passion for real estate after she graduated from University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She started a family business where she acquired, managed, and sold multiple properties.

She brings a deep knowledge of accounting and personal experience in real estate to the company’s investment portfolio needs and goals. Olga is a licensed CPA in the state of Maryland.

Elsa Lopez, CPA

Property Accountant

Elsa Lopez serves as a Property Accountant at Resolution Capitol Management, covering the entire Mid-Atlantic portfolio. Prior to joining the company, Mrs. Lopez worked at a CPA firm where she provided accounting and financial services for 15+ businesses including property management accounting. Elsa’s interest in the accounting industry led her to start her own accounting business where she provides accounting, financial and tax services to small businesses.

 

Mrs. Lopez Graduated from Strayer university with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. She is a proud mother of 2 young adults. In her free time, she loves to garden.

 

Elsa is a licensed Tax Preparer in the state of Maryland.

Jana Clark

Senior Property Manager

Jana Clark, an accomplished Senior Property Manager at Resolution Capitol Management, brings over 8 years of expertise in overseeing more than 25 buildings and 2.7 million square feet of diverse commercial properties in the DMV area. She excels in managing Historic, Class A, and Trophy Class assets, ensuring professional and seamless operations.

 

Jana's commitment extends beyond her day-to-day responsibilities; encompassing tenant and owner relations, maintenance staff support, capital improvements, and comprehensive accounting and reporting. Her dedication to providing excellent customer service resonates in every aspect of the portfolio.

 

Beyond her professional achievements, Jana takes immense pride in her role as a mother. Her sons, one of which is graduating from Texas A&M and another

training for swimming in California, reflect her success not only in her career but in nurturing a thriving family. Ms. Clark is fluent in two languages besides English.

Chadd Kerr

Assistant Property Manager

Chadd Kerr serves as Property Management Coordinator at Resolution Capitol Management.

 

A proud graduate of Texas Christian University, Chadd was inspired to pursue a career in Commercial Property Management & Real Estate after developing a passion for the industry. Mr. Kerr is an organized and detail oriented individual who prides himself on being able to utilize various industry tools and problem-solving skills to achieve tangible results.

As a Property Management Coordinator, Chadd is responsible for assisting the Senior Property Manager in day-to-day operations for multiple property types, ensuring that they are well maintained and operating efficiently.

He is tasked with negotiating vendor contracts to obtain the best prices for maintenance service and repairs, as well as facilitating communication between ownership and vendors. Mr. Kerr is committed to providing excellent customer service to tenants, responding quickly and effectively to their needs and concerns.​In his free time, Chadd loves playing basketball and golf. He is an avid sports fan who enjoys watching and playing all sports including chess.

Pedro Pena

Maintenance Technician

Pedro Pena serves as Maintenance Technician for the entire portfolio at Resolution Capitol Management including residential, office, and industrial assets.Pedro has over 15 years’ experience as a building mechanic, possessing knowledge of day-to-day building operations and maintenance of facilities with various systems. Prior to joining RCM, Pedro participated in daily building operations and maintenance of two buildings totaling over 300,000 square feet of office and retail space in Northern Virginia. He was responsible for starting up the mechanical components of each building daily, ensuring their proper operation, as well as worked together with vendors to facilitate the necessary repairs and upgrades. Pedro ensured timely completion of all necessary Building PMs including Fire Drill, Fire Life Safety Testing, Elevator Testings, IR Scanning, Water Treatment, Cooling Tower Cleaning, Generator Testing, and Backflow 

Preventor Testing. While there he really enjoyed helping tenants and completing smaller projects as well.

Pedro is bilingual speaking English and Spanish. He enjoys playing and watching soccer. In his free time he likes to go camping and fishing.

David Zafirovic

Operations Coordinator

David Zafirovic serves as Operations Coordinator for the entire portfolio at Resolution Capitol Management.

Having worked in management positions within the food service industry, David has made a career in being a clear communicator and being ready to assist with any task. David’s real estate & property management experience spans across leasing positions for 700-unit buildings, as well as managing Class-A residential properties in Bethesda, MD. His time in these roles have allowed him to understand the intricacies that go into property operations, as well as assist in vendor communication, accounting, contract management, and operations support.

Mr. Zafirovic’s skillset extends into IT and marketing, which allows him to assist with matters outside of tenant coordination within the company. David prides himself on being a multi-faceted asset to Resolution Capitol Management, striving to be as methodical and thorough as possible to help the company achieve all its financial and operational goals.

David is fluent in Serbian, Croatian, and Bosnian, and runs/plays in multiple basketball leagues in his free time.
